7th Street Band has been called the Bay Area Reggae Scene’s best kept secret. Roots Reggae via Berkeley, Ca. 7th St. Band has an authentic and powerful sound. Created and lead by drummer Edi Arnold, 7th Street Band has slowly become a force to be reckoned with.
Since 1992, Edi has been the strength and consistent foundation of the band. Danny McCaffrey (bass, executive producer) and Benjamin Goff (keys) reunited with 7th Street Brand in 2003. The award-winning, founder of the Funkanauts, Jason Collins (guitar) joined the team in 2005 and the four piece, has been polishing their sound since.
7th Street Band has collaborated with and backed many talented artists in the reggae sphere: Lloyd Brown (UK), Army (St. Croix, for the first time this summer), Messenjah Selah (Jamaica), Prezident Brown (Jamaica), Winstrong (Suriname), Ras Indio (Belize, for the first time this summer), Jr. Toots (Jamaica), Brother Ayouba (Ivory Coast), Roots Natty and Miosotis (Puerto Rico) and Earl Zero (Jamaica).
7th Street Band is most currently working around the Bay and Northern California with Luv Fyah (Bay Area) and Binghi Ghost (St. Croix). Keep an eye out at the end of the summer for 7th Street Band’s first release of original riddims, as well as a collaborative album with Luv Fyah and Binghi Ghost.
